Product Introduction
The GLOWORM® Instant Fingerprint Development (Tracing) Reagent is a novel on-site fingerprint fluorescence detection reagent developed based on AIE (Aggregation-Induced Emission) technology. The reagent produces an immediate photo-induced fluorescence reaction upon contact with fingerprints.
Compared to traditional fingerprint development methods such as powder dusting, fuming, and staining, this reagent offers simple operation, rapid development, high sensitivity, and is non-toxic and odorless.
After atomization, the GL reagent is sprayed onto the biological specimen. The reagent rapidly interacts with amino acids, proteins, lipids, and other components in the fingerprint through a series of interactions including physical adsorption, chemical reaction, electrostatic attraction, and hydrogen bonding. This causes GL molecules to aggregate along the molecular chains of the biological material. Due to the aggregation-induced emission effect, the bound GL molecules emit distinct fluorescence when excited by blue or green light. The background areas, where no aggregation occurs, do not produce significant fluorescence. This results in maximum contrast and enables highly sensitive fingerprint detection.
The Instant Reagent is available in multiple versions:
Blue Light Version – Excited by blue light, emits green fluorescence. Suitable for surfaces such as red or highly fluorescent backgrounds.*
Green-Yellow Version – Excited by green light, emits yellow fluorescence. Features high fluorescence brightness, clean background, and high contrast.
Green-Orange Version – Excited by green light, emits orange fluorescence. Features broad excitation and emission spectra for wide applicability.
*Note: For enhanced development on red or highly fluorescent surfaces, use with a dedicated green viewing filter/eyewear.
